Helping to understand our Anglo-Saxon past
The Registered Charity (no. 279700) started in 1980 to help people understand the Anglo-Saxon Settlement and what we have learned through archaeology.
We are supporting a unique experimental archaeology project at West Stow and a valuable educational resource for our Anglo-Saxon past.
Volunteers who add more life to the reconstructed Anglo-Saxon Village
We are a group of volunteers who have been helping the work of the Anglo-Saxon Village in a host of different ways over the years.
We have been involved in many projects on the site from providing the funds to build the living house, to rebuilding the forge workshop and making bread ovens. We have successfully catalogued and photographed thousands of small finds from the site.
We have provided replica items for the Village and the Anglo-Saxon Museum, showcased living history, skills, pastimes and traditions in the reconstructed Anglo-Saxon buildings.
